we are all unique

Being human is such a hard thing. We all want to be seen for who we are, while striving to be like everyone else. We listen and rely so much on what others think of us, our choices, our tastes... that we forget to do things for OURSELVES... I think that, like many people, we also think that some people have the solution to our problems because theirs seem the same. And don't get me wrong. Sometimes it's important to trust someone, to ask for help, to listen to the advice of a wise person. But not always, not for everything.
Our world is full of "influencers," and for me, that's not right. No one should want to be an influencer, because in my opinion, it implies having power over others, and that's true. They do, and that's the problem. I have nothing against them or against those who do it for a living. For me, the term "influencer" is completely inappropriate. We should never want to have power over others. We should strive to be sources of inspiration, "inspirers," not "influencers." Explain to people that just because something works for me doesn't mean it will for you. Even if the problems seem similar, it doesn't mean we need the same solutions or that their products will work for you.
Of course, sharing what has helped us can be useful to others because it gives them ideas to try new things, ask for help, get encouragement, etc., but never forget how unique you are.
My advice: find your own solutions by testing different things, focusing on yourself, create your own rituals, etc.
I mean, when you look at "influencers" on social media as professionals, their lives seem so "easy." Look at a "morning routine" and tell me what you think... How am I supposed to do all that in an hour when I live in the country and can't have all the Pilates studios and other equipment nearby, or when I start work at 7 a.m.... am I supposed to go to bed as soon as I get home so I can wake up at 4 a.m.?
It's important to find what works for you, what you need, without it necessarily being perfect on the outside, because if it works for you, it's perfect.
You know, deep down, what's good for you. This long list of everything they say you "must" or "should" do are just ideas to inspire you. It's not something you absolutely must accomplish to have a balanced and healthy life. Social media is full of beautiful videos of clean homes, perfect routines, impeccable hair, makeup, and clothes, and that's what I love about it.
But I, the first to remember, have to remind myself that these are just short videos made specifically for social media. I'm convinced their lives don't look like that every day. My life will never look like that... and that's okay because, in the end, it wouldn't really be me.
I don't need everything they have, even if sometimes it makes me want to.
Now I know that, I have to find what works FOR ME. Because no one lives in my shoes. I know what I need to get rid of (which doesn't mean it's obvious), what I need to try, what makes me feel good...
I've learned to listen to my body and recognize when I need to push myself and rest. I know better what I like and what I want my life to look like. I know this because I've tried different things. Because I've been wrong a few times and right others. Because now, I'm inspired, not influenced.
And that, in my opinion, is the main shift in mindset.
Be inspired by others, but never let yourself be influenced, because otherwise, you won't be living your life, but theirs.
I'd love to know what you think 😉
